Poetry Friday: Shhhhhhh

February 5, 2016 by Sally

It’s Poetry Friday and I’m still thinking about my visit to Singapore, and trying to create poems to go with some of my favourite pics. One of the animals I really wanted to see at the Singapore Zoo was the polar bear – and I wasn’t disappointed. He was absolutely beautiful. Here’s my photo poem.

Polar Bear

Have a great Friday, and don’t forget you can see what my Poetry Friday friends are doing by visiting the Poetry Friday roundup, which this week is hosted by Trica at The Miss Rumphius Effect.

Sally, this digital composition is wonderful. What do you say that I post it at Winter Wanderings’ Gallery from you at the Singapore Zoo?

I love the bear-y play with words 😉
A good artist friend of mine just came up with a bear-themed colouring book, and we are launching it soon. 🙂

I can see why you would want to revisit your trip! Love the photo and the poem to go with it. My parents have an enormous cat who lies down the same way. It makes an impression!

Thanks Tabatha. It’s quite a child-like pose for soemthing so massive, isn’t it?

You have managed to include so many interesting/perfect words- flat out, creeping, lair- in this poem! The poem, and the terrific picture are going to be fun to share with kids!

“much more than I can bear”: I love it! …Did news hit Australia about the U.S. scout leader who bear-ly survived a cave encounter: http://www.cbsnews.com/news/new-jersey-boy-scout-leader-attacked-by-bear-911-calls-reveal-drama/ Your photo reminds me of Suzanne Bloom’s bear in the pix bks. I loved to share with students. God bless you! Thank you for a joyful start to my morning, which (unexpectedly to me) has brought snow and closed schools again!
