You are not a hundred dollar bill. Not everyone is going to like you or your story. Do not take rejection personally.

Oooooh, I like this one. It made me laugh first, then nod my head in agreement. Rejection hurts. Of course we want our stories to be accepted. But trust me, the rejection is not a sign of some plot, nor of a nasty editor sitting at the other end saying ‘nyah nyah nyah’. The editors and publishers I know are all very nice people. Your rejection could be for any number of reasons.
So, what to do when you get rejected? Rant at the wall, your cat, or your spouse. Then get over it, and keep writing and submitting. If you can’t – you’re in the wrong industry.
