Had a busy week this past week with two days in Perth with Murphlet 3, two days work at school, Murphlet 5’s birthday and more, but managed to finish work on the picture book which feels ‘done’ now and another tweak of my verse novel, which also feels done. Have been taking a notebook to the swimming pool each afternoon and, while the Murphlets swim, I’m working on some new poems. Naturally, many of them are about swimming and summer, but am sometimes surprised by the topics and images that come to mind when I least expect them.
Also worked through the proofs of two more of my forthcoming educational titles, which are looking good. I love seeing my book babies being brought to life.
Have just updated Aussiereviews with eight new reviews.
My favourite in this batch is Heart of Gold, by Michael Pryor. What a great fantasy read and even though I hadn’t read the first instalment in this series, I really felt drawn in by it.
Enjoy the reviews.
