Phew. What a wonderful start to the month! As we’re now half way through I thought I’d pause and look at what has happened so far.
If you’ve just joined me, then welcome! May is a really special month for me, because my verse novel, Pearl Verses the World, was released on May 1, and I am celebrating this with a month long cyber-party. So, if you’ve missed anything, you can catch up now.
First of all, the big day, May 1 signalled the long awaited (for me, at least) release of Pearl, meaning it could now be bought in real life bookstores – and ordered online as well. To mark the day, I had party, right here on the blog, with cyber-champers and virtual canapes and general silliness.
May 1 also marked the beginning of my ten day blog tour. The great thing about a virtual tour is that it stays online indefinitely. So, to recap, I can be seen on these blogs:
Day 1 – Spinning Pearls, where I guest blogged about the process of writing Pearl.
Day 2 – The Writing Life, where I was interviewed by Brenton Cullen.
Day 3 – Tips for Young Writers, where I was interviewed by Dee White.
Day 4 – Persnickety Snark, where I was interviewed by Adele.
Day 5 – Let’s Have Words, where I discussed promotion with Claire Saxby.
Day 6 – Just Listen Book Reviews, where Allie reviewed Pearl.
Day 7 – Look at That Book, where it was Lisa’s turn to review the book.
Day 8 – Write and Read With Dale, with yet another wonderful review.
Day 9 – Tales I Tell, where Mabel cleverly interviewed me in verse.
Day 10 – Robyn Opie’s Writing for Children Blog where I shared some hints for getting published.
But that’s not all! As well as touring other people’s blogs, I have had people visiting this blog as well, sharing poetry exercises and more. It isn’t too late to read the posts by Kathryn Apel, Sheryl Gwyther, April Wayland and Lorraine Marwood.
Want more? The other exiting thing that’s been happening during May is the wonderful Verse-Off poetry challenge. this is a chance for blog visitors to show off their poetry writing skills and has drawn some excellent entries. Don’t know what a Verse-Off is? Find out by visiting the first installment and then see the resultant entries here. And you can come back on Sunday for the next photo prompt.
Wow! That’s a lot – and there’s more to come. Keep coming back during the rest of the month and enjoy the celebrations.
Thanks for being part of the festivities.
