The war to end all wars, they say,

That all may live in peace one day.

I fight in hopes it might be true:

We build a better world for you.

 

The war to end all wars, they said.

So many maimed, so many dead.

A hundred years have come and gone

And yet the wars go on and on.

 

It makes me weep to count the cost

So little gained, so many lost.

We must remember what’s been done

Until the quest for peace is done.
